Have you ever wondered if there’s a place where borders don’t exist? Where everyone’s the same, no matter their nationality, skin color, or sexual identity? What if I told you such a place exists? In a small town called Boom, Belgium, twice a year, the world comes together as one. That world is called Tomorrowland.
Since 2005, the world has been enriched by a musical experience that brings people together from every corner of the globe. A place where happiness reigns, where wars and money become irrelevant, and where you simply get high on life. It’s something everyone should experience at least once. And if you’re lucky, you might find yourself returning every year – if you can get your hands on those coveted tickets. If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s worth the hype, let me tell you – it is. And here’s why.
More Than Just a Festival
In theory, Tomorrowland is an electronic dance music festival, but it’s so much more than that. And I say this from personal experience. Before 2017 – my first time on the holy grounds – I wasn’t even an electronic dance music enthusiast. But I met my husband a year prior, and he convinced me to join him in Belgium for not one, but two weekends at Tomorrowland. I had just finished college, and his excitement was contagious. With a little persuasion, the decision was made, and in July, we set off for Belgium. We had premium camping tickets in a dedicated area called Friendship Garden, where we shared a reserved space with our friends.
Don’t get me wrong – no matter where you camp or stay, being at Tomorrowland is a blessing. But my husband and I prefer camping. And while I’m not a big fan of camping in everyday life, Tomorrowland’s DreamVille is another world. It’s a fully built temporary town with shops, food courts, warm showers, even hairdressers and makeup studios. Sounds incredible, right? And the night before the festival begins, there’s a pre-party right in the camp – an experience I wouldn’t miss for the world.
The Magic of Tomorrowland
I’ll never forget my first time stepping into the festival grounds. It was breathtaking. The main stage was a grand circus tent, alive with performances from countless artists. A wave of emotion hit me, and I started crying. And every year, that first glimpse of the main stage gets me again.
But that’s just one of 16 stages, each unique and magical in its own way. Beyond the visuals, the experience is extraordinary. From intimate sets to massive performances, there’s something for everyone. The production quality is unmatched – every detail, from the stage designs to the sound systems, is meticulously planned. And let’s not forget the food. With a wide variety of cuisines and Tomorrowland’s own currency (Pearls), you’re guaranteed a culinary adventure.
The Heart of Tomorrowland: Its People
The true magic, however, lies in the people – the People of Tomorrow. Every year, over 200 nationalities gather in Belgium. The atmosphere is electric, filled with love, friendship, and hope. It’s a place where strangers become friends, and where you’ll find yourself dancing alongside people from every corner of the world. Music unites us all, creating an energy that recharges you for the year ahead. The friendships, the music, the shared experiences – it’s something words can’t fully capture. It’s a community that extends far beyond the festival grounds.
If you have even the slightest desire to experience Tomorrowland, I urge you to try. Get those tickets. Listen to my advice. After all, I’m a veteran of the festival. My first year was 2017, and I’ve only missed one year – 2022, when my daughter was born. But even after that, I returned, and this year, we’ll be attending both weekends once again.
Tips for First-Timers
1. Buying Tickets is Like Winning the Lottery
Tomorrowland sells out instantly, regardless of ticket quantity or price. If you don’t secure a ticket through the official sale, you might have to buy one at a much higher price from a reseller. My husband purchased a Tomorrowland NFT, which guarantees us access to buy four tickets every year (though next year, it will be limited to two). Even that is better than missing out! If you don’t get a ticket, don’t lose hope – keep trying!
2. Plan and Organize Everything in Advance
Once you secure tickets, follow all deadlines, personalization dates, and travel arrangements carefully. Book flights early, arrange train tickets through Belgium in advance, and pack light – but be prepared for unpredictable weather. We’ve experienced both scorching heat and heavy rain in the same weekend. Packing for all conditions is a challenge, but where there’s a will, there’s a way.
If you’re camping, bring an inflatable mattress and earplugs – good sleep is essential. Wear comfortable shoes, because you’ll be dancing and walking all day. Buy a locker in advance to keep your valuables safe. And don’t be afraid to ask for advice – Tomorrowland attendees are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
3. Be Open and Friendly
One of the best parts of Tomorrowland is meeting new people from different cultures. They will enrich your experience for years to come. I’m still in touch with friends from all over the world. We chat online, share memories, and plan future meetups. The people at Tomorrowland are all there for the same reason – to be present in the moment, to live, love, and unite.
4. Explore Beyond the Headliners
Sure, you have your favorite artists, and you don’t want to miss them. But take time to wander. Discover smaller stages. Support new artists. One of my best Tomorrowland moments was when most people were at the main stage watching David Guetta, but my husband and I chose to attend a Dune set. The intimate experience was unforgettable – we even got to take pictures with the artist! Sometimes, the best moments happen where you least expect them.

5. Make Every Second Legendary
Above all, make every moment count. If you’re lucky enough to be at Tomorrowland, use your time wisely. Don’t drink excessively – remember everything. Don’t do drugs – Tomorrowland has a zero-tolerance policy, and getting caught means being banned from the Holy Grounds. It’s not worth it. Let the atmosphere and energy lift you up. You don’t need anything else to get high – Tomorrowland itself will do that.
A Festival Like No Other
I truly feel lucky to experience Tomorrowland time and time again – to dance with my favorite artists, to share magical moments with my best friends, and to celebrate life with the whole world.
Tomorrowland is a place where the world feels smaller, and where we’re all the same. And now, its magic is spreading – from Belgium to Brazil, France, and Abu Dhabi. Because love, music, and connection know no borders.
Have you heard of Tomorrowland? Would you like to go someday? Let me know in the comments.
And to my fellow People of Tomorrow – Live Today, Love Tomorrow, Unite Forever.
